Ride The Tiger

10 Things I Love, June 2010 Edition

1. Victoria’s Secret’s Semi-Annual Sale
I think anyone can appreciate this. Girls love the feeling associated with wearing cute underthings, that’s a no-brainer. And yeah yeah, guys couldn’t really care less what your bra looks like as long as it’s able to come off fast. But there must be a moment as he’s fumbling with your bra clasp that the thought occurs to him “Wow, this is probably the most cleverly patterned piece of intimate-wear that I have ever had the opportunity to remove from a gorgeous lady. And oh my, those panties!”

2. Brown Sugar And Vanilla scented things
Seriously.
I’m wearing such scented body spray as I type this.
I could devour myself right now.

3. Philip Seymour Hoffman
What with school being out and me having a ton of free time, I’ve been watching a lot of movies. Among these have been Cold Mountain, Pirate Radio, Almost Famous, Along Came Polly, and The Invention Of Lying. Guess what they have in common?
I would love to have lunch with Philip Seymour Hoffman. How has he won only one Oscar? How has he only been nominated three times?!

4. Chess
I spent part of my Sunday yesterday making note cards describing the properties of each piece, and then played game after game after game of Chess on my laptop. At approximately 1:00 a.m. early this morning, I won my first match. Chess is now my new favorite pastime.
And I just found this.

5. Yoga
I’ve been doing yoga at least twice a week for the past two months. My body longs for it if I go too long with out a sun salutation. You know how all those instructors tell you how you can feel the energy moving through your body and all that shit? It’s so true.

6. English Literature from the 1800′s
Even though I enjoy Jane Austen, I’m not talking about her. Right now I’m reading The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins. Some guy is named Percival. PERCIVAL.
This lady (the woman in white) Anne Catherick seeks a little help from a young drawing-master, Walter Hartright. After accompanying her to London in the middle of the night, Walter learns that she was formerly very closely connected with the family he is to be going to with his skills the following day. After they go their separate ways, Walter overhears a man in a carriage asking an officer if he’s seen a woman wearing all white, for a woman fitting this description has just escaped from his asylum.
I’m loving it, so much.

9. Winged Out Eyeliner

I’ve always been a fan <3

10. Star, Idaho… still
I’m going over again on Wednesday this week, and I’m excited for the refreshing air :3

Nikon will be attending this time!

I recently declared that Google Chrome was my favorite internet browser, but after this article, I’m a little discouraged.

I love Cracked.com
Do you?

Thrifty Finds, March 11 Edition

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it before, but I am an avid raider of thrift shops. After a lovely morning of Mythology and Psychology, I visited my local Salvation Army thrift store. Probably one of the best raids I’ve had in a while. Today I found:

This Awesome Owl Wall-Hanging Duo

As if I don’t have enough things hanging on my walls already :P
I’m getting ready for decorating my new apartment this summer!

A Miniature Aphrodite Statue

It’s a little smudgy right now, but totally fixable. Everyone needs a little Aphrodite in their lives ;)

Some Killer Red Shoes

Just my size. According to the date tag, they’d been there for over a week! I can’t imagine so many people overlooking them.

Cub Scouts Neckerchief

How could I not get it?

This Lovely Apricot Dress

I’m hoping to incorporate this dress into a future photoshoot, something by a river with lots and lots of foliage.

And More Books To Add To My Own Personal Library

A rundown on the titles:
The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov
The Gipsy In The Parlour by Margery Sharp
The Republic of Plato
A Separate Piece by John Knowles
Ishmael by Daniel Quinn

I hope your day was as superb as mine! All filled with thriftiness, Modest Mouse, The Complete Fairy Tales of The Brothers Grimm, and getting my favorite mug back : D
I’ve had two teachers just this week tell me how much they want it. The teacher whose class I’d left it in yesterday claimed he almost considered taking it.

Tell everyone they’re looking really good today for me,
Dacoda.

10 Things I Love This February

In no particular order:

1. Kate’s homemade bonbons
My super swell friend Kate (the tree climber, if you happen to look at my photography) made the most delicious chocolate wonders for The Chocolate Ball, a dance we had to support Lit. Club. They had sprinkles. And they were chocolate. Win? YES. Here’s some Chocolate Ball fun:

2. A Beautiful Mess
As in the art inspiration blog of Elsie Flannigan. Check it out! She’s one of the raddest chicks ever, and if I could have anyone’s life, it’d be hers. As in I’d want to be like her. Not that I would want to take her life as in kill her. That would be terrible D: Anyway, she comes up with all these nifty little crafts alllll the time, finds the cutest things everywhere, the best music, the best art, and is just oozing creativity in every post. Here’s Elsie, from a picture she has on her Flickr:

3. Cliff’s van, Dr. Katrina the Hostess
Who likes cruising? Dacoda with Clifford and Katrina!

4. Cleaning my room
I don’t have any pictures for this, but I do love how clean and homey it’s becoming :3

5. Billy Boy On Poison, Saybella, and The Virgins
I’m sure you’ve heard of The Virgins. So nevermind them (but still <3), Billy Boy On Poison was recently one of the Singles of the Week on iTunes with their song "On My Way" and apparently on Gossip Girl once, but I don't watch that show so I wouldn't know. And Saybella is a recording artist out of Portland, Oregon. Check them both out: Billy Boy On Poison; Saybella

6. Thursdays
Both classes I have end in ‘-ology,’ so of course it’s a good day. Mythology and Psychology? Fuck yeah. I get to sleep in and I go home at lunch and not have to come back. I never work on Thursdays either. Thursdays are my little slice of heaven (:

7. The squid dress I’m designing
Yeah, this sketch is nowhere near completion. Just you wait. And when I become a sewing master, it shall be made (:
Photobucket

8. My new boots
I chose new boots over gas. I totally think it was worth it. I may have to live like I’m poor while my bank account recovers, but at least I’ll be living poor in my new boots.
Photobucket

9. My plan for the last day of my senior year
It’s pretty simple. Creep out a shit ton of people, cos I’ll never see them again!

10. Realizing the widespread possibilities for my future
I could be a forensic psychologist, a coffee shop owner, a coroner, a taxidermist, a photographer, a writer, an interior designer, a small shop owner, or like a doctor. I doubt it. But maybe. But no.
Or I could be a hobo and live in a box. But I bet I’ll be a happy hobo.

Keep it real!
Dacoda.
